Hard Turn

"Hard Turn" is a legacy Hornet, down low over the water as viewed from another jet.  When these jets first hit the fleet, they were regarded as a bit of a novelty by the F-14 crews, but quickly found their niche in the battle group.  Suddenly, with no foreseeable air threat, the Battlegroup wanted jets that could haul a bomb-load over the beach, and the F-14 community scrambled to catch up.  

The pictured Hornet has wing tanks, wing-tip Sidewinder missiles, and that's it...  since then, the Hornet has grown into the Super Hornet, the current version in the fleet.
