Artist Comments
An F-14A Tomcat starts an at-sea airshow with a high speed pass past the side of the USS America. Piloted by Dale "Snort" Snodgrass, it was an aggressive start to the show, intended for VIP viewing, but often a show put on for Navy families who were lucky enough to hitch a ride for the event.
Snort had a massive influence on Fighter pilots and Navy Air in general, and went on to further airshow fame.
This piece is a tip of the hat to "Top Cat's Flyby", and is 30 x 40" in size.
